Bristol for Foodies

Updated: Nov 5, 2019

Friends in town? Parents visiting your new home turf? Need to recharge post-nights? We've got you covered!

BRUNCH

The brunch scene in Bristol has really taken off over the last few years. You can't go wrong by checking out one of these numbers...

Primrose Cafe - Fantastic and reasonably-priced full English (both meaty and veggie) along with all the usual brunch heroes. On a warmer/drier day you can sit outside in the courtyard...a fantastic spot for weekend people watching in Clifton. http://primrosecafe.co.uk/

East Village Cafe - Another Clifton Village spot. Serves great vegetarian food, featuring more unusual options such as their amazing quinoa waffles with sweetcorn hash & cashew cream. https://www.eastvillagecafe.co.uk/

At the Well - Check out the legendary 'Transatlantic pancakes' at this great spot on Cheltenham Road. It doubles up as a laundrette too! https://www.at-the-well.co.uk/thewell/bristollaundrettecafe.html

Bakesmiths - Delicious homemade sourdough bread is served alongside dishes such as their house baked beans. https://www.bakesmiths.co.uk/

LUNCH

Souk Kitchen - This cracking Middle Eastern restaurant is hidden just off Whiteladies Road. They do a great lunch deal which includes a drink. Think flatbreads, houmous, meaty skewers and mezze boards. There's another branch in Southville too. https://soukitchen.co.uk/

Whapping Wharf - Head down to the Harbourside to Wapping Wharf; where you'll be spoilt for choice by a huge range of places for food & drink. http://wappingwharf.co.uk/. Mokoko does a great lunch plate (featuring homemade quiches/frittatas and house salads) and their spread of freshly baked cakes are amazing. Plenty of outdoor seating for sunnier days too! https://www.mokokocoffee.com/

Falafel King - Hearty portions of the ultimate lunchtime comfort food. Friendly team, quick service and great value. Branches on Cotham Hill & in the City Centre. https://www.falafelkingbristol.com/

DINNER

Bristol Lido - A great spot for dinner with family or for a special Occassion. Dining spots have a beautiful view over the Lido. They also do great swim or spa & dine packages if you're looking for a birthday/Christmas present to remember! https://www.lidobristol.com/eat-drink/

The Lion - A friendly pub in Cliftonwood. Cosy interiors and amazing roast dinners. http://www.thelioncliftonwood.co.uk/

Bravas - A buzzing little tapas place on Cotham Hill. Great music and fantastic food. https://www.bravas.co.uk/

Flour & Ash - A fantastic pizza restaurant on Cheltenham Road. Great midweek deals and well known for its ice cream too! https://www.flourandash.co.uk/

Little French - A brilliant French restaurant in Westbury Park which changes its menu daily. Think scallops, oysters, duck, moules frites! They also do brunch on Saturdays & Sundays. https://littlefrench.co.uk/

Pasta Loco - So good that I haven't managed to get a table yet. Booking (often months in advance) is essential for this Cotham Hill restaurant, which has become famous for it's delicious pasta dishes. Follow them on Social Media to find out about last minute cancellations too! https://pastaloco.co.uk/
